“A Prayer to Jesus to Rescue us All,” by Andrew J. Schatkin

Ladies and gentlemen, I ask you to join with me in another thoughtful and thought provoking intellectual quest where we all set about to discard political code words, political hype and media lies and media falsehoods and journey with me into the realms of truth and facts and engage in critical thinking with the end of tearing from us the corruption and darkness that surrounds us and influences us and our thinking to be remade with the forces of lies, politics, and commerce into an image that can only fool and virtually destroy us all and if not tear us apart then bring further and further down to the depths of ignorance and complete darkness.

Today I will speak a prayer to Jesus, the son of god, and the second person of the holy trinity, seeking him to rescue us from this world of sin and death. Dear Jesus, you became human and took on a human body to rescue us in your offer of faith and salvation and your offer of eternal love for all humanity, and in your suffering and death on the cross. Dear Jesus Christ, make us and enable us to know and understand why this rescue mission was necessary to take us from this world or corruption and sin and bring us with you to eternal life. The world of today in many respects denies the reality of sin and evil yet you say no and tell us that sin is an ever-present reality in our human nature and constitution selfish and filled with self-love and self-involved as we are as you know we are and as we know we are. Rescue from the sin and darkness that surrounds us, permeates us, and fools and can come to rule us. Make us grasp the necessity of your death on the cross or better put the necessity of this rescue mission from the fall of man in the garden that brought the human race to death, pain, evil and suffering and make us know the truth of why you became god and why we are in desperate need of the help you offer us in this rescue mission and make us grasp and understand the truth and necessity of your death on the cross. You come to us in a mission of love eternal life and eternal love and eternal joy. Dear Christ, teach us to know these truths and why we are in such critical need of you and knowing and grasping your words and their depth that can only be understood as coming from the mind of god from the precincts and mansions of heaven as you speak to us in holy scripture.
